February 2007

Today.. It was the last day at my sweet school, St Joseph’s Higher Secondary School, Thalassery. It was Farewell for us :(

Lino with a song..

It seemed difficult for me to beleive that the days at St. Joseph’s has come to an end. Two years..are very short. They passed just like two seconds. It is really painful to leave this great school.

We had been organising a bunch of activities at school since July 11 2005. During the farewell event, Teachers announced that we the, 2005 - 2007 batch is the most colourfull batch at HSS everseen. So.. We are the greatest students of St. Joseph’s HSS :)

St.joseph’s HSS is situated near the banks of Arabian Sea with a very beautiful environment. A lots of shrubs..plants..trees… Holy Rosary Church…Tellicherry court infront..then Collectors’s Banglaw..Vast Sea..Light house…A historic semetery..and lot more are surrounding our school. No one could see such a great environment anywhere else. I beleive so. If we go to the terrous of the school you can see the entire Thalassery town, Sunsets..and the fast waves of arabian sea. The environment of St. Joseph’s is really superb!.

I could write 1000s of pages about this school…I’m afraid it might ruin my mysql database capacity.

Teachers at St. Joseph’s HSS are also very great. We could find a very friendly rela (more…)

QtAll practical exams have ended and its the little time for fun!

A Telephone No Search C++ program rolled through my mind. It was one which we had for our school Com Sc practicals. I am a KDE guy and a fan of Qt Toolkit.

Today only I got enough time to hack on it although I had tried it a couple of months before. ‘Telephone No Search’ was a console based simple code. Many guyz writing simple stuffs on C++ asked me how these windows and buttons are created ? Is it possible through C++?. Here is a nice illustration.

C++ is a base language and its nice concept (Often bore concept for schoolers :D) of CLASSes and object orientation does the nice job. We can use some tool kits for creating GUI based applications using C++. Here it is. The Trolltech’s QT.

I have wrote a graphical front end for the console application.

Here is the console C++ code: Telclass.cpp

Qt Code: phone-books.zip

Binaries: GNU/Linux

Today it was Computer Science public practical exam at school.

I was assigned a Question to write a C++ code , Temperature conversion using class. It was pretty simple. The most glad stuff happened was that I compiled the code on a Box installed with SLYNUX :)

It was wonderful to compile the code with the great GNU GCC compiler. Hats off to free software.

It seemed that practical examiner was crazy on Viva questioning. He didn’t look deeper into the written codes.. he was going on asking questions till students get troubled. Truely.. he was just like a quizmaster. Most students got troubled with Viva.

He asked me some questions related to compiler internals.. about-> Compiler directives, their difference between normal statement, generalization, the time when compiler directives are compiled.. before or after compilation!. But I found that he was too a Turbo C++ fan :(. He asked me the No of lines of code compiled when 20 lines are compiled (Turbo IDE stuff !!). I didn’t actulally get the Question. I answered simply 20 lines. Then he told me to look at a Turbo n compile one code. It was noticed that there was 4000.. lines compiled. He asked..how the rest of the lines come from? I replied that they come from the headerfiles and namespaces used. These were out of syllabus !

The viva went like a nice game. Anyway I enjoyed it well:)

I have been a fan of the great Google since the first time I used internet. It is really superb. They are putting infinite services and products to world wide users. Simply it is true that geeks always say ‘Google is always your friend’. Thanks to Sergy Brin and Larry Page for such a great work.

I am a guy really got fascinated to this flexible giant. Their revenue is only through Ads. What a great innovation ! Being a great MNC, it is a wide supporter of open source too. That is truly appreciable. I feel Google is a wonder in 21st century. How much applications and services are released by google every month? Really amazing. I love google. I would be really proud if I am placed to Google in future.

Google is always innovative. They look for innovation. I’m an innovation lover….I’m got addicted to google. | Working at google. Wow! Being a googler is a short dream of me.

Hey google ? Do you want me ?
