March 2006

Hi all.

I am back after the most encouraging FOSS NITC 2006 conference. It was a very nice experience.

On 18th Sat, I went to NIT (Former REC), calicut for doing a workshop/Talk ‘The Live CD Workshop’. It was 9.40 when I reached there. Then inaugaration ceremony was going on. I met Amarjith singh, the organiser of the program and he told me sorry that there was some changes in program schedule. No probs.. I was 100% ready to do talk at anytime. There were so many speakers from Banglore. Three of them were yahoo guys. Gopal V, Kalyan Varma, Philip Tellis, Praveen, Dilip, Premshree Pillai, Shreekumar, Shreyas Srinivasan, Pradeepto, Shyam Mani, Aanjhan R, Kushal Das were the other speakers there. NIT was the first engg I ever saw. The college has a pleasurefull environment. Students in the college are also encouraging.. I got some good friends there for a meanwhile.

I really enjoyed the FOSS event. I missed some of the talks due to schedule of my talk. My workshop was conducted at NITC computer Lab. Actually NITC guyz expected for a hands on workshop..but due to it feel boring to audience I made it into a demo based talk with a practical session. No hands on. So many students at NITC asked me some doubts and I became cheerful in answering and clearing their doubts. In the evening I found out my old friend, Varun Narayan who was my schoolmate before two years. I got a a good company with him there…
Praveen, Dilip, Kushas Das and me engaged in some technical as well as funny talks at guest house and finally slept. Kushal gave me a nice Fedora Core community T-shirt.

On the second day, I felt my health condition very bad due to cold and head ache. So I sat off mooded at the seminar hall listened at the talks. My enthusiasm was hooked up by Kalyan Varma’s Application security talk. He showed some interesting stuffs like security holes in popular websites ..& little stuffs. It was really interesting. After his session, i asked him some doubts too..Shreyas Sreenivasan’s FOSS Foundry talk was very nice. He was a cool guy. He demonstrated some FOSS stuffs and finally Xgl Live CD, which was really funny. It included a future desktop environment which was so flexible. To know more.. click hre. I missed a lot of talks. I felt very sad. My Kodak CX 6200 cam is’nt pleasing indoors.. hence pics are not good.

Finally it was closing Cerimony, Mohandas sir gave us momentos. We paused for some group photos and left. Thus FOSS@NITC got an end.

Hi,

My next program is at NIT, Calicut. GLUG is going to conduct a two day FOSS Fest (18th and 19th). :) I will be doing ‘Live CD Workshop’ there. My schedule is on 18th, 2 pm. I am in a real thrill.
I like NITC college well. Last year after the release of SLYNUX, I was invited to NITC for last year’s FOSS program. I heard a technical talk from there for the first time in my life. It was deleverd by Atul Chitnis. I cannot forget that moment ever… It was the starting exposure of my enthusiasm…

Hi friends,

Finally exams ended on 9th March.. I am too late to put this news here..
But.. I don’t have enough time to work with Free software stuffs due to tutions.
I have tutions daily, Morning and Evening. The schedule for morning tution is 7 am and is chemistry. I have to wake up early 5 am to reach tution class in time.
Laaazzzy…
In the evening I have tution for Phy & Maths at Ravikrishnan sir’s classes. It’s really interesting. Ravikrishnan sir is a researcher and a good teacher. He presents physics with different paradoxes and interesting stuffs. He teaches concept level physics.. and I love it.
This is my IInd year (+2). So I have to prepare well for entrance exams.. by stopping these stuffs. Otherwise I will lose the target NITC. :( :(

Blog u later.. bye
